     I think that such 'corruption' is better to be done *not* with regular
     expressions but with appropriate 'formatting objects' .

     word, it is better to write trivial rendering layer which
     will make this

   For me (at work) my use case is, for example to expand
a word to provide separation for a speech synth, but an implementation
of the XSL audio properties would do the same thing.
the only other use case I have is effectively xpointer.
This is not grep like, but says things like, this element, fourth word
through tenth word, or fourth word (single location.)

  Our use case is for 'bookmarks' into an xml file that a customer
is reading, puts down and needs to save a specific place at a deeper
level than element.
