About errors, James' XT page (http://jclark.com/xml/xt.html) mentions
that :

This tend to acknowledge that improvements are possible in this area.

However, in your case :

it doesn't seem obvious how you would handle this unexpected action !

There is also a general principal for XML that as they may be used for
business transactions, the tools should stop after an error (it is
documented for XML parsers and could probably be implicitly extended to
XSLT processors...).
