I am taking two actions:

1. I have converted it into a standalone package to take a grammar, a text
file, and generates the parse tree. It is now somewhere on the
http://www.wireoptional.com site.

2. I will be converting it to an XT extension.

I know it will be fun writing an extension for XT. The thing needs major
improvements in speed too. And the amount of effort it takes to parse
something simple like: /a[/b] really gives me pause. XPath is not trivial...

I am going to check the source code to find out how extension elements
are done in XT. Before I do that, I gather I should ask the list first. I
don't want to go down any blind alleys that you might have done down to.

# Just to let you know that since today you are for sure not alone in your
walk. Working on next version of UX I have to re-engeneer detailes of how
xt:document works. My task looks easier than yours ( I'l not bet on my own
extension elements, all I need is to understand how xt:document works - and
then more likely that I'l not make any changes to XT code ).

# Anyway - I'm definately starting with this walk tomorrow evening and I'l
definately write some brief paper in the result. Also, if you already had
some progress in understanding the dataflow ( just pointers to the
participating classes, for example ) - I'l appreciate greatly.

# Will be in touch.

# Rgds.Paul.

# PS - Anybody needs a small, trivial hack which allows retriving
top-level stylesheet parameters which were provided to the stylesheet, given
with the pointer to XSLProcessorIml ? ;-) No need to change the XT code, as
usual.

# I mean that XSLProcessorImpl.getParameter( name ) does not accept String
;-)
