Yes.

If we look at other famous software developed by James Clark, Jade has
been further developed as OpenJade and expat is being carried away on
sourceforge as expat 2.0.

I'd summarize the possibilities as:

XT:
 ++ leverage on the "brand" and reputation of XT.
 ++ shows the affiliation with XT
 = need to be approved by James Clark
 - may confuse people (which XT version am I using ?)

openXT:
 + shows the affiliation with XT and open source
 
4xt:
 + leverage on the "brand" and reputation of 4xt.
 + shows the affiliation with XT

Other possibilities (oxt, eXTra, ...):
 + more imaginative
 - doesn't show a very clear affiliation with XT.
 
I would say that openXT is probably the most "reasonable" choice but I
would be happy to keep using 4xt (and I hope James will tell what he
thinks).
