My company is currently using XT in our servlet-based applications. I've
been wondering whether we should replace it, but it's still the fastest
java-based processor, at least according to the tests I've done with the
latest version of Saxon.
However, it would be nice to be able to use it via the
javax.xml.transform interfaces. I've therefore written a driver class
that allows one to do that. For the moment, it handles only StreamSource
and StreamResult and is quite incomplete, not to mention practically
untested. However I think it would be feasible to handle all input and
output types with a bit of work.
Also while using the XSLTMark tests to compare XT and Saxon, I found and
hacked up a fix for the bug in XT which causes xsl:sort containing
"position()" in the sort keys to fail.

I know that no significant work seems to be being done on XT, but is
there interest in the XT community for these changes and extensions?

Karen Lease
