Summary :
-------

There seems to be a consensus that :

1) XT should be maintained and improved
2) The first most important thing is to make it 100% conformant
3) The next most important is to follow the TRaX initiative

4) SAX2

There have not been any feedback about SAX2 support, and I propose to
add it as #4.

5) Interoperability

I personally think that we should also develop more "handlers" for XT,
facilitating a usage as a "secret weapon" within many different
contexts.

The usage as a plugin can probably enter in this classification and
maybe "Norm Walsh's catalog handler" proposed by David as well (though I
am not sure to understand what he means since it seems that something
has already be done (see
http://www.arbortext.com/Think_Tank/Norm_s_Column/Issue_Three/body_issue_three.html#N939)).

The output handlers (XHTMLOutputHandler and FormatedTextOutputHandler)
and the CSVDocument input class are also natural fits for this category.

A CSVOutputHandler could also be easily developed.

RTF is another format for which it would be nice to have input and
output classes.

The integration of Java Tidy would allow to read HTML files (though Tidy
is not always very flexible) and to check (X)HTML output.

6) Documentation

Or should it be 0) ?

The support from James at least as a guide would be invaluable, however,
we don't know what are his plans.

I think we should agree on a plan (around the above summary) and try to
build the development team to implement it.

Do you agree with this idea ?

Eric
